  1. How old are you? And why are you so into anime? I’m also too old to watch lol, noone in my surroundings watch it.

  2. hehe, I’m an ex-librarian too, I studied it in the uni, but I cannot make a living out of it, so I changed fields (maybe you should do it as well), and I’m also too old for anime :))) it’s good to see some fellows with similar background 🙂

  3. I spent many years being a librarian before budget cuts hit. Actually, I should update this page. I’m currently teaching English in China. No longer unemployed!

    • That happens when you get old …

You have four years on me. As for your question, I don’t know how old is too old. But I do know I am watching shows intended for people far younger than I am.

    • I replied to your post on your blog but it keeps getting eaten, so I’ll reply here:

Thanks for the invite! However, I’m going to give it a miss, for a couple reasons. First, my blog used to generate more traffic than it does now, so I’m not sure it counts (in the old days I wrote about every episode I watched; I don’t have the time for that now). Second, I can’t think of eleven deserving blogs that haven’t been mentioned already. Third, I’m too lazy to think up questions.

But I’ll answer one of yours: Dark chocolate. Thanks again.

  4. You’re an inspiration for watching anime at such an age… Now I know, there’s no problem in watching anime forever! I got started late, into my early adulthood, which I absolutely hate but I guess better late than never.

  5. I always say, “You can never be to old to love anime!” It’s true. I’m probably too old (in some people’s eyes), but to me, I’m not. Anime pretty much is my life. Without it, I would most likely be dead right now.

  6. Greetings Peter,

I have just gone through some of your articles and I must say that I am quite impressed.
The first thing I noticed was that you actually care about grammar and respect the names of the shows you watch, in regards to how you spell them, uppercase and lowercase. Then there are the articles themselves.
They are concise and have a screenshot from the episode, and you tend to give shows you watch a fair chance; watching a good handful of episodes before giving up on them, not to mention that you give a reason why you gave up on them. While I do not always agree with your reviews, I can respect them.

That said, I really enjoy this blog and I hope you continue to post more impressions in the future.

    Keep up the good work!

    Best regards,

    Lucas (Unreal Samurai)

  9. This seems to be an interesting blog from what little i saw (i saw your recent post till the post about Index before episode break), especially since it’s managed by a 57 (or 58?) yo anime fans, such an inspiration when i got older later and people commenting (you’re too old to watch “cartoons”). It’s also pretty interesting to see older anime fans who aren’t all about “animes i watch or what i deem as good anime are only those who represent reality, cynical, dark, deep, and depressing stuffs” but actually prefer lighter shows such as CGDCT type. I also can relate with your comment about Index S3, so many characters thrown at us at once, no rest between arcs, so confusing that i keep thinking that i should rewatch S1 and S2 (which i watched about 3-4 years ago) to be less confused.
